The Sensex closed at 19244.42 down 72.83 points while the Nifty closed at 5857.90 down 21.70 points.
The top five Sensex gainers were Hindalco, Maruti, M&M, Tata Power and Bajaj Auto. The top five losers were Bharti Airtel, TCS, Wipro, HDFC Bank and ITC.
