The Sensex closed the session at 19229.26 down 126.00 points. The Nifty closed at 5851.50 down 36.50 points.
The top five Sensex gainers were Tata Motors, Jindal Steel, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank while the top five losers were ITC, Sterlite, BHEL, Hindalco and Tata Steel.
