Sensex rises 74 points

The Sensex closed today at 18505.38 up 74.53 points while the Nifty closed at 5619.70 up 21.80 points.

The top five Nifty gainers were Hindalco, Maruti, Tata Motors, Cipla and Sesa Goa while the top five losers were Reliance Infrastructure, GAIL, BHEL, ONGC and Ultratech Cement.

Sensex plunges 205 points

The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty lost 204.97 and 67.70 points respectively. The Sensex closed at 18430.85 and the Nifty closed at 5597.90.

The top five gainers as far as Sensex is concerned were Maruti, Dr.Reddy's, Infosys,HUL and Wipro.The top five losers were SBI, Tata Motors, L&T, Hindalco and Hero MotoCorp.

Markets end flat again

The Indian Stock Markets ended flat second time in the last three session. The Sensex closed at 18635.82 up 10.48 points while the Nifty closed at 5665.50 up 1.30 points.

Wipro, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Power, Dr.Reddy's Labs and RIL were the top five Sensex gainers.
BHEL, Sterlite, Tata Motors, L&T and Coal India were the top five losers.

Sensex nose dives 133 points

The markets nose dived on the last trading day of the week. The Sensex lost 133.29 to close at 18625.34 while the Nifty lost 41.00 points to close at 5664.30.

The top five Sensex gainers were M&M, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, GAIL and BHEL. Top five losers were RIL, HUL, ITC, Cipla and Dr.Reddy's Labs.

Markets end flat

The Sensex ended the day up 48.61 points at 18758.63 while the Nifty closed the day up 13.90 points at 5705.30.

The top five Nifty gainers were M&M, IDFC, HDFC, Hero MotoCorp and GAIL while the top five losers were Dr.Reddy's Labs, Ranbaxy, SBI, Punjab National Bank and Reliance Infrastructure.

Sensex sheds 83 points

The Sensex today closed 83.42 points down at 18710.02 while the Nifty closed 25.75 points down at 5691.40.

The top five Sensex gainers were HDFC, ICICI Bank, Coal India, HUL and L&T.
The top five losers were Infosys, Jindal Steel, Hindalco, ITC and Hero MotoCorp.

Sensex rises 111 points

The Sensex today rose 111.13 points to close at 18793.44 while the Nifty rose 32.90 points to close at 5717.15.

TCS, L&T, Bharti Airtel, NTPC and ICICI Bank were the top five Sensex gainers while Jindal Steel, ITC, Sterlite, Tata Motors and Hero MotoCorp were the top five Sensex losers.

Sensex loses 109 points

The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty closed in the red on Friday. The Sensex lost 109.62 points to close at 18682.31 while the Nifty lost 34.45 points to close at 5684.25.

The top five Sensex gainers were ITC, Hero MotoCorp, Dr.Reddy's Labs, Bharti Airtel and Infosys while the top five laggards were Hindalco, Jindal Steel, GAIL, BHEL and Tata Power.

Sensex gains 181 points

The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty clocked handsome gains. The Sensex closed at 18791.93 up 181.16 points while the Nifty closed at 5718.70 up 58.45 points.

The top five gainers were Tata Power, SBI, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors and TCS.
The top five losers were Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, GAIL and ONGC.

Markets end flat

The Sensex and the Nifty ended flat on wednesday. The Sensex gained 33.07 points closing at 18610.77. The Nifty gained 12.25 points closing at 5660.25.

The top five Sensex gainers were BHEL, L&T, Tata Power, Tata Motors and HDFC. The top five Sensex losers were SBI, RIL, Sun Pharma, TCS and GAIL.

Markets end marginally in the green

Markets bounce back

The Sensex and the Nifty bounced back and closed in the green today. The Sensex gained 173.65 points to close at 18804.75 while the Nifty gained 55.90 points to close at 5708.05.

The top five Nifty gainers were PNB, Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, DLF and JP Associates. The top five Nifty losers were Ultratech, Ambuja, Lupin, Cipla and Maruti.

Sensex plummets 229 points

The Sensex closed down 229.48 points at 18708.98 and the Nifty closed down 70.95 at 5676.00 on Monday.

Jindal Steel, Bharti Airtel, ITC, NTPC and Sun Pharma were the major gainers while Reliance, L & T, SBI, Tata Motors and BHEL were the major losers.

Sensex loses 119 points

ONGC, HUL and Tata Motors were the top three gainers while HDFC, Sun Pharma and Wipro were the top three losers.

Sensex spikes 188 points

Markets were upbeat on the news that government is likely to announce further reforms.

The BSE Sensex closed the day marginally higher at 18869.69 up 45.78 points. The NSE Nifty closed at 5731.25 up 12.45 points.

GAIL, BHEL and Coal India were the top three losers while TCS, Bajaj Auto and ONGC were the top three gainers.

Sensex closes subdued. Up by 61 points

Dalal Street ended subdued on Monday with Sensex closing at 18823.91 up by 61.17 and Nifty closed at 5718.80 up by 15.50.
