Sensex gains 169 points

The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty closed higher on Friday. The Sensex closed at 19339.90 up 168.99 points while the Nifty closed at 5879.85 up 54.85 points.

The top five Sensex gainers were BHEL, Jindal Steel, ONGC, Sterlite and Tata Steel while the top five losers were Bajaj Auto, HUL, Maruti, Coal India and Tata Motors.

The BSE Sensex closed today at 19177.28 up 335.20 points while the NSE Nifty closed at 5825.00 up 97.55 points.

The top five Sensex gainers were Tata Motors, Sterlite, Bajaj Auto, Cipla and ICICI Bank. The top five losers were Infosys, Hero MotoCorp, BHEL, Maruti and TCS.

The top five Sensex gainers were Bharti Airtel, Jaiprakash Associates, BPCL, Reliance Infrastructure and Sesa Goa. Power Grid Corporation, NTPC and ONGC were the only losers.
