The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty closed in the red on Friday. The Sensex lost 109.62 points to close at 18682.31 while the Nifty lost 34.45 points to close at 5684.25.
The top five Sensex gainers were ITC, Hero MotoCorp, Dr.Reddy's Labs, Bharti Airtel and Infosys while the top five laggards were Hindalco, Jindal Steel, GAIL, BHEL and Tata Power.
